It could be many things. Did it ever work OK?
In order of likelyhood: RAM. power supply, motherboard, CPU heatsink/fan
problem, corrupt drivers, corrupt Windows files.
To fix/diagnose: Run Memtest86. Adjust RAM memory timings in BIOS. See if
new BIOS is available. Remove extra PCI cards. Disable sound and network in
BIOS. Check CPU heatsink for attachment and fan spin. Check power supply fan
for spin. Update motherboard chipset drivers. Try F8 at boot for Safe Mode.
Keep replacing parts until fixed.
